AERIALS Repeater System

AERIALS plans to provide open repeater systems to serve the needs of the Ocean-Monmouth Amateur Radio community.

It is the main goal of AERIALS to maintain and enhance the 443 Repeater system to continue serving the local Amateur community as an Open, Coordinated repeater available for Emergency Communications, Public Service events and general Amateur Radio use.

In addition, AERIALS plans to foster good amateur radio practice, explore new technologies and to take an active role in helping establish and maintain local, interstate, and international repeater communications networking capabilities through the use of the 443 Repeater system.

AERIALS plans to explore and experiment with new technologies within Amateur Radio for use with the existing repeater system which may lead to additional capablities beond the existing AERIALS 443 Repeater system.

Regarding repeater systems we are interested in improved Command and Control methods, improved Emergency Communications, Severe Weather Alerting, emerging Digital Communication techniques, Space Radio experimentation, Television and Text Messaging as well as FM and ACSB voice communications.

We are also interested in other areas of the RF Spectrum beyond the 70cm band for which the Amateur Radio Service has allocations and is so far under utilizing.

Many of these repeater system related interests are in areas that would require additional capabilities beyond just the 443 Repeater for which AERIALS would need to develop new systems to address.

At an absolute minimum, as stated earlier, AERIALS will continue to maintain and enhance the 443 Repeater system for the benefit of the Ocean-Monmouth Amateur Radio community.
